Inspiration
There are stories that have not been heard especially at this time of day. We wanted it to make it easier for anyone from different backgrounds and parts of the world to come together and share their experiences.
What it does
Global Pride allows users to view stories that are shown as these markers across the world. Users could add a story and fill out a form with a title, category, pronouns, and experience.
How we built it
It was built with React, JavaScript, CSS, HTML, Bootstrap 5, React-Bootstrap, Google Maps, and Firebase.
Challenges we ran into
Working in different time zones. Reading the documentation and examples for Google Maps and Firebase because of the unfamiliarity with it. Bootstrap 5 was buggy with React Bootstrap since it was still in beta. Obligations such as work, school, family.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
The design aspect looks vibrant with the colors. Able to use google maps and firebase together in React. Was able to deploy the application live on here
What we learned
How to use these technologies and designs to make this application.
What's next for Global Pride
Adding filtering, images, animations.
