Inspiration

Inspired (or you can call it triggered) by long waiting times during check-in, the hassle of physically handing over physical documents during check-in and the danger from COVID-19 from the transaction. All of the aforementioned problems could be done away by using a digital method backed by an SSI provider.

What it does

In this project, we can see how we can utilise Affinidi's API to create a verified credential that can digitalise the check-in process. In this example, we will imagine a Start-Up A that provides a global identification service that is built on top of the Affinidi's API. The goal is to streamline the check-in experience with a safe and faster method.

How we built it

By leveraging on Affinidi's use cases repositories, I have created a workflow and demonstrated how the new check-in procedure will work. I have split the folders in it under issuer (Start-Up A), holder (traveller) and verifier (Hotel)

Challenges we ran into

Understanding how Affinidi's API work, debugging the repository's source code to handle the bugs. On top of that, I had to think about the workflow and how Affinidi infrastructure could help out.

Accomplishments that I am proud of

Proud to officially understood what Affinidi is trying to do as well as how the API works.

What I have learned

Affinidi API

What's next for Global Identifier for Traveller using Affinidi API

The next step is to improve the dashboard by combining all of the web page together to minimise the necessary complexity during the workflow. On top of that, facial recognition API can be used to check against the details provided by the traveller.

To improve the overall security, traveller's face can be captured when they are filling in the credentials and a similarity matching can be done to ensure their identity. Building on, we can work with other hotel's API to have different KYC method to verify the booking details.
