This summer, as I was looking for volunteer activities for social good, I found it extremely inconvenient to look through each website to find an opportunity and research the specific issues that I wanted to help out with. I thought it'd be a great idea if I were to create a website for those seeking to make a global impact or just interested in getting informed about current global health issues without having to do tedious research about it!

What it does

To help raise awareness about the major health issues that millions around the world are currently suffering from, this website has been designed to keep people informed, prepared, and ready to help us out in our mission to keep everyone healthy!

How we built it

I built it using HTML and CSS on BBEdit.

Challenges we ran into

As the hackathon began, I found a team of 4 to work on a website together with. Unforunately, since the team was unavailable, I worked solo on the project. Even though building an entire website by myself in the short time period given seemed really intimidating, I was fortunately able to build a functional website that met its purpose.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I'm proud that I was able to create a fully functional website! If it weren't for this hackathon, I wouldn't have found the motivation to create a coding project by myself.

What we learned

I learned a lot about how to embed videos and images onto websites! Also, I got to experiment with different website designs and gained a lot of experience in web development as well!

What's next for Global Health Issues Awareness

I'm really looking to expand the number of global issues that the website addresses. In addition, I want to develop the website's design (maybe add Javascript) so that the interface is more appealing and interactive for the user.
