Inspiration

We were inspired by the diverse and wild tales about Africa, some may be lies, some may sound too good to be true. With “Connect Africa” we hope to shed some light about some of the most grandiose mysteries about the beautiful continent of Africa

What it does

Connect Africa uses a tap function to answer 8 trivia questions about the African continent, using the turn based & leaderboard component, the lens is designed to inspire friendly competition as well as eductainment amongst both old and new friends, truly connecting in a friendly, yet competitive way

How we built it

We used Lens Studio’s Quiz template, leaderboard & turn based system component. A confetti burst is also implemented to encourage each user to either celebrate, or inspire them to try another turn, before sharing with friends

Challenges

We faced issues with the downtime of AWS, usually dealing with upload and download constraints, bugs & a couple of log in issues as well.

Accomplishments

We created a lens that works solo and socially, but emphasizes in making connectivity by sharing with friends, a playful and visually appealing lens experience.

What’s next

We plan to expand with more continents, Europe, Asia, The Americas, Middle East interactive AR experiences, effects, and cultural symbols, depicting history, heritage & a path to the future.
