Inspiration: I wanted to explore glitch-based gameplay and the idea of breaking rules to progress, inspired by retro pixel platformers.
What it does: A simple platformer where the player escapes a corrupted game world by using intentional glitches like clipping, broken movement, and hidden paths.
How we built it: Built in GDevelop (browser version) using a platformer template. I modified existing mechanics, level layouts, and events to fit the glitch theme and exported it as an HTML5 web game for Devpost.
Challenges we ran into: Working within a template made it harder to fully control the “glitch” feeling. The challenge was turning standard platform mechanics into something that feels intentionally broken but still playable.
Accomplishments that we're proud of: We successfully reshaped a basic platformer template into a glitch-themed experience with custom levels and mechanics.
What we learned: How to adapt existing game templates and still design a clear theme around them.
What's next for BROKEN PATH: Add more custom glitch mechanics, replace more template systems, and make the corruption effects more dynamic and interactive.
