Glimpse

Inspiration

Inspired by journal tracking, and vision boards. I also wanted to figure out the best way to transfer that medium to online, while adding something new.

What it does

You have until the end of the day to do a recap! You can pull from a photo you took, add an emotion, or add a note about the day. Then, after completing yours, you can scroll down and see your friends recaps whenever they complete it. For extra inspiration, you can jump to a vision board to stay motivated when feeling down. If you missed a day, you can always do a recap, and the photo selected is automatically taken from that day. You don't have to put any other information! But, without doing a recap, the friends recap page is locked.

Challenges we ran into

Figuring out how to condense list of features, and turn it into one storyline for Figma.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Completing a full prototype in 24 hours! We also tied the past through the ability to look back and do a recap from a past day, the present from doing a recap from a current day, and the future from the ability to "glimpse" into the future through your vision board.

What we learned

How to do efficient research in a short amount of time, what aspects to focus on, and what to spend less time worrying about for the sake of a deadline.

What's next for Glimpse

We want to go beyond recaps, maybe a way to recognize through AI the photos you submit so the app can do a recap of what you recap throughout the day! There would be different categories: foods, moments with friends, places you’ve been to, outfit of the day. Another thing is, notifications that encourages users to take photos throughout the day, so there are options for the end of day recap. Maybe even if there's no photos, a user can put another thing to identify that day, like a song, a movie, anything that you might have associations with!
