Inspiration
The original inspiration was to take a new piece of technology and create innovative applications for its functionality that no one else has created before.
What it does
The app works by tracking user purchases assigning tasks to employees to service the users.
How I built it
The app was build using Google Glass and the native GDK. The backend is created using the MEAN stack. The front-end uses a combination of Angular and HTML/CSS.
Challenges I ran into
The original design was to use a service like Firebase or Parse, but we encountered some challenges that were not easily overcome. We could not upload pictures directly to new links like we wanted to. Additionally, we planned to use Square's API to get purchase data from users, but this was not made accessible to us.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
The team learned to work well in well-defined time constraints and create a solid end-product.
What I learned
We learned how to interface with Google Glass, which none of us have worked with before.
What's next for GlassTasks
The members of GlassTasks have learned a lot, and we shall take out newly gained experiences and skills to future hackathons and school/work opportunities.
