Inspiration

As students, we understand the difficulty of finding a one-stop community where you could apply for and find jobs so we decided to create a community where you can find a career without the extra hassle.

What it does

This application helps with the job search process for candidates. It also helps employers advertise roles to seek for eligible candidates they could also hire as employees

How we built it

  • Frontend: HTML, CSS, JS, Bootstrap
  • Backend: Python (Django), SQLite
  • Deployment: AWS, Docker, NGINX

Challenges we ran into

  • Learning to work with Django
  • Troubleshooting NGINX, Docker, and monitoring

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of our teamwork, communication, and collaboration skills & our project's end result

What we learned

We learned how to build a full-stack website with Django as the backend from scratch and implement reverse proxy using Nginx, installing SSL certificates. We also dockerized the webserver and Nginx. We believe the most important part was learning how to debug certain parts of our application.

What's next for Glassjobs

  • We will continue monitoring and adding user features
  • Increase our website's accessibility according to Web Content Accessibility Guidelines
  • Further, refine the website's design
