College Profile Example

Inspiration

Many students in New York do not have access to the resources to be able to travel across the country to visit a college in California. Our goal was to allow high school students to visit a college without needing to travel and without the extreme filtering that colleges place on their advertisements.

What it does

College students can upload pictures and emails of their college to their college's page on our website. From there, high school students can then view those videos to truly see inside of the classroom and college life atmosphere.

Challenges we ran into

There were many bugs that we ran into which we solved by being persistent.

We are proud of working through the night to figure out the bugs We are proud of figuring out file uploads to our website

Market to college students to be proud to show off their college on such a website Expand the UI to different accounts to have their own profile Users to store their colleges of interest Figure out a way to monitor to ensure that videos not safe for underage students are not posted.

I contributed to the frontend as well as being a senior mentor to our younger less experienced members to help them be able to contribute to the project in a meaningful way. Functioned as a kind of product owner/scrum master role to make sure all parts of the project were moving along enough for the rest of it to function and was always questioning the rest of the dev team to make sure they were able to best explain their ideas so we knew exactly what we had to do before it came up.
