Problem:

1. Ad-Based Revenue Models: Many existing platforms prioritize ad revenue, leading to a flood of clickbait and unoriginal content. This diminishes user experience and makes it hard for users to find high-quality, authentic content.

2. Lack of Visibility for Creators: Original creators, particularly in the NFT space, struggle to gain visibility on crowded platforms. They often resort to promoting their work on other social media, which can dilute their brand and message.

3. Inadequate Revenue for Creators: Creators receive little compensation for their work on traditional platforms, as revenue is primarily funneled to the platform itself rather than the content creators.

4. Limited User Engagement: Users often encounter content that doesn’t resonate with their interests due to the algorithm-driven nature of many platforms, leading to disengagement.

GlassBoard solves the problem of discovering and supporting original creative content while ensuring that creators receive fair compensation and visibility. By leveraging blockchain technology, it creates an ecosystem where both creators and users benefit, promoting a more sustainable and engaging content-sharing environment.

Goal of Glass:

The goal of Glass is to create a decentralized platform that empowers users to discover and showcase NFTs in an engaging and rewarding way. By enabling a permissionless environment for interest boards, we aim to:

Enhance Visibility for Original Content: Provide a space where original NFT creators can gain exposure without relying on traditional ad-based revenue models.

Simplify NFT Discovery: Streamline the process of discovering new and exciting NFT projects, allowing users to explore interests without the noise of clickbait or ad-driven content.

Foster Community Engagement: Encourage users to participate actively in the ecosystem by pinning, voting, and sharing their favorite NFTs, thereby building a vibrant community around creative content.

Leverage Web3 Technologies: Utilize blockchain technology to create a transparent and secure environment for transactions, fostering trust among users and creators.

What It Does

• Curated Content: Glass allows users to curate their favorite content by pinning it to personalized dashboards for an exceptionally low fee.

• NFT Showcasing: Users can create boards that highlight their preferred NFTs and collect digital assets from others, fostering a community that can earn income from exciting NFT projects.

• Efficient Blockchain: Launched on the BTTC blockchain, Glass benefits from high transaction throughput and minimal fees, essential for a model that relies on numerous users making small microtransactions without incurring high costs.

• Simple Setup: Setting up a Glassboard is straightforward; users can upload images that are permanently stored on IPFS via Pinata. After the upload, NFTs are generated for each Glasspin, linked to a new Glassboard contract on the blockchain.

• Sharing boards links: Additionally, users can easily copy the link to their boards and share them with others, inviting friends and fellow enthusiasts to discover and engage with their curated collections.

• Voting Mechanism: Users can vote for their favorite Glasspins, with each user allowed one vote per pin, enhancing discoverability within the community.

• Pinning Process: The pinning feature allows users to collect Glasspins from various boards for a small fee, with 1/3rd of that fee going to the board creator and rest to the Glasspin NFT owner . Fees are transferred immediately to the respective wallets upon pinning.

• Infinite Pinning System: This encourages the creation of high-quality Glassboards and Glasspins that are more likely to be shared. Users can explore Glassboards sorted by the number of pins, votes, or recent entries, creating an engaging environment for NFT enthusiasts.

• Empowering Discovery: Glass empowers users to discover and showcase NFTs in a rewarding and interactive manner, enhancing the visibility of original content and allowing NFT creators to gain exposure without relying on ad-based models.

• Community Engagement: The platform promotes community involvement through features like pinning, voting, and sharing, fostering a dynamic ecosystem around creative works.

• Web3 Technology: By leveraging Web3 technologies, Glass simplifies the discovery of new NFT projects while ensuring transparency and trust through blockchain infrastructure.

How We Built It

We developed Glass using blockchain technology on the BTTC chain to ensure decentralization and transparency. The platform utilizes smart contracts to facilitate community-driven pinning , voting and ranking, allowing users to promote original content effectively. Implemented a user-friendly interface that simplifies nfts discovery and interaction, ensuring that creators and collectors can engage easily. The integration of low-cost payments allows for fair compensation for creators and encourages active participation within the community.

Accomplishments That We're Proud Of

We successfully created a functional prototype of the Glass platform, which includes key features like nfts discovery, voting and social pinning. The positive feedback from early testers highlights the platform's potential for fostering a supportive environment for original content. We are particularly proud of our implementation of smart contracts, which promote transparency and equitable distribution of rewards among users and creators.

What We Learned

Through this project, we learned the importance of community engagement in building a successful platform. We also gained insights into the complexities of integrating blockchain technology with user-friendly design, emphasizing the need for simplicity in navigation. Additionally, we understood the challenges of fostering a culture of originality and trust in an environment often dominated by clickbait tactics.

What's Next for Glass

Looking ahead, we plan to enhance the Glass platform by incorporating additional features based on user feedback, such as advanced filtering options for NFT discovery and enhanced social interaction capabilities. We aim to expand our outreach efforts to attract more creators and collectors, building a strong community around original content. Additionally, we will explore partnerships with other platforms to increase visibility and broaden the reach of the Glass ecosystem. Our ultimate goal is to create a sustainable and vibrant marketplace for NFTs that prioritizes quality and creativity.
