Inspiration

We wanted to create an app that made it easier for those wishing to donate blood, find spots easily and see if they are eligible. Our goal was to encourage more people to donate blood, as it has the potential to save countless lives.

What it does

Our app has pages that allows you to input your age and weight, to which it lets you know if you are eligible to donate blood or not. It also incldues extra criteria to which the donor can see based on height, previous pregnancies, health conditions, and more. We also have additional pages where you can find nearby hospitals that accept blood donations by entering your location.

How we built it

We used Figma to map out our app and draft a layout for the pages and user interaction.

Challenges we ran into

One challenge we ran into was that it was our first time using Figma. It was a bit challenging to use at first because we weren’t familiar with the design tool. But after watching tutorials on YouTube, we started to get better and created GiveRED.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of how the user interface looks to the consumer and the overall idea behind the app. We believe it has a chance to make donating blood much easier and more efficient.
