Give me Vitamin

Inspiration

Recently I had faced Mouth Ulcers and Doctor said me that it is due to lack of Vitamin B-Complex. Then I searched on google where can I find those vitamins and I found that B-Complex is composed of different B-Vitamins and I found it is found on Vegetables and food we consume and that is available on our home. I had thought that day that One day I will make an app that detects food and find which Vitamin that food contains and then luckily, I saw Food-themed hackathon from MLH and then I thought to build that app idea on this hackathon.

What it does

It is an app which takes image from the phone and then first detects the food and then tells which vitamin is there on that food.

How I built it

First of all, I collected different food images that I have at home as a dataset for my model and then I trained the model as Tflite which has been made easy by Google Teachable machine. Then I integrated that model inside flutter application.

Challenges I ran into

I got difficulty in collecting the images as there was lockdown and I had to manage with the vegetables I had in home and capture images of that. Also, there was power-cutoff for about 8hrs which made me difficult to make video and upload video and I could not add a camera feature inside the app which would make the app more awesome.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

I am proud that I build an Machine Learning Based App that solves a problem and I had never Built App with Flutter as an Hackathon Project.

What I learned

I learned how to create Machine Learning Models and How can I integrate within the Flutter App.

What's next for Give me Vitamin

I have planned to add more variety of Foods on my project and also a feature where App can detect Vitamin of Food on live camera of Device.
