What inspired us to create this project? We drew inspiration from the forest fires that occurred in and around Seattle, which had a significant negative impact on both our communities and ourselves.
What does our program do? Our program utilizes satellite data to monitor wildfires worldwide. Additionally, it provides users with guidance on how they can contribute to environmental conservation and identifies volunteering opportunities.
How did we develop it? To build our program, we incorporated NASA's fire watch page into our application. The program itself is developed using HTML and CSS exclusively.
What challenges did we encounter? During the development process, we faced several challenges, including integrating the embedded web page, incorporating images as page backgrounds, formatting the title and navigation bar with different items, and overcoming various layering difficulties.
What accomplishments are we proud of? We take pride in having developed a fully functional application that can make a real-world impact. Despite the absence of one team member, we successfully completed the project.
What did we learn? Through this experience, we gained valuable insights into effective teamwork, identified our individual strengths within a programming team, and discovered the extent of our ongoing learning potential.
What's the future of Give Back 2 Seattle? The next phase for Give Back 2 Seattle involves refining and enhancing our webpage to ensure it delivers an even better user experience.
