Consumer culture encourages everyone to overspend and overbuy. Often, people end up with more goods than they actually need. GIVE provides individuals with the opportunity to donate these extra materials as opposed to wasting or neglecting them.

What it does

GIVE is a web application that connects individuals intending to donate with organizations that need specific resources and materials.

How we built it

Our Front End is comprised of HTML and CSS while our backend consists of Flask Python. In addition, we also used MongoDB as a data base to store various information such as contact email, location, etc.

Challenges we ran into

One challenge we faced was connecting the front end and back end of our application. We ended up learning a lot and discovering a new passion for technological applications that we were not previously exposed to.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of connecting the three interfaces together; the front end, the backend and the database. Successfully utilizing a database to store information passed through our website is also an accomplishment for us.

What we learned

Although it was challenging, we learned a lot about bridging the gap between front end and back end development.

What's next for Give

We would love to integrate Google Maps API's into our web-application in order to provide distance information to our users. In addition, we plan on developing mobile IOS and android applications for Give.
