Inspiration
GitUHb is an independent student-project collaboration prototype: a place to discover projects, show relevant GitHub work, and connect with potential teammates.
What it does
The codebase includes project listings and detail pages, application and membership flows, a personal dashboard, profile pages, featured repositories, and email-verification routes. GitHub authentication is the entry point, with university-email verification intended to control student participation.
How it is built
The project uses Next.js 16, React 19, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS, Prisma 7, PostgreSQL, Auth.js, React Hook Form, Zod, Radix UI, and Resend. Its schema connects users, projects, applications, memberships, comments, votes, and featured GitHub repositories.
My role
GitUHb is a personal prototype maintained in my public GitHub repository. This entry describes its source-backed architecture and shows the actual locally rendered sign-in interface.
Engineering focus
The central design challenge is connecting identity, verification, project ownership, and collaboration permissions in one data model. The interface separates discovering a project from applying, managing a project, and maintaining a personal profile.
Status and gallery
The gallery is a local frontend capture from October 7, 2026. Authentication, email delivery, and database-backed collaboration were not exercised during this capture. GitUHb is an independent portfolio prototype, not an official University of Houston service; this entry does not claim university sponsorship.
Next steps
Validate the complete sign-in and verification flow, test authorization boundaries, and prepare a seeded public preview with clearer independent-project branding.
