Inspiration
I was tired of staring at GitHub repositories like they were written in hieroglyphics. So, I thought, why not build something that helps me (and others) contribute without the headache?
What it does
GitMentor is like your personal open-source mentor. You give it a GitHub repo and a feature idea, and it spits out a step-by-step plan to make it happen. It tells you which files to tweak, how to set things up, etc.
How I built it
Many many tears. Tech Stack: Python/FastAPI/Gemini backend Next.js/TypeScript/Tailwind frontend Vercel/AWS/Cloudflare (SSL) deployment
Challenges I ran into
frontend and backend not communicating with each other
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
it actually works (kinda)
What I learned
docker is life
