Inspiration
Our Codegeist 2016 submission! (See: https://devpost.com/software/bit-booster-git-graph-for-jira-7s0nvk ).
What it does
Puts a mini git graph right in the Jira ticket. But unlike our 2016 submission (Jira DC + Bitbucket DC), this one works on Jira Cloud + GitHub!
How we built it
Java on the back-end, TypeScript on Forge, and JS in the iframe (Jira Cloud).
Challenges we ran into
GitHub took months to approve our app on their marketplace.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We're VERY proud that we put together both a Jira DC and Jira Cloud version of this app within the Codegeist eligibility period. But sadly our Jira DC version is not available in Marketplace because we were given the wrong deadline for submitting new Jira DC apps (see: https://ecosystem.atlassian.net/servicedesk/customer/portal/34/ECOHELP-103704 ).
What we learned
As a small geographically dispersed remote team we learned that we can truly rely on each other, especially when we're on the final stretch.
What's next for GitBoost
We're going to build on this work to migrate our popular Bitbucket "ControlFreak" app over to GitHub. "ControlFreak" was our Codegeist 2017 submission and it now earns 6 figures USD per year. Here's its original 2017 submission page: https://devpost.com/software/bit-booster-global-jira-foxtrot-hook
