Girlwork | Secrets of Time

Inspiration

After crafting a sinister EDM chillstep track laced with shadowy dreams, I set out to shatter visual boundaries; pushing AI-generated imagery into realms of surreal seduction and cosmic unease, where scorpions and surveillance collide in fever.

What it does

Sonically, it catapults translated vocals into uncharted sonic hallucinations, blending ethereal whispers with throbbing undercurrents for a mind-melting escape. Visually, it wields keyframing like a blade, forging an attention-grabbing odyssey that hooks eyes with arthropod intrigue and alluring forms weaving through chaos.

How we built it

I generated over 20,000 AI images of the enigmatic woman, meticulously categorized by environments, moods, and surreal scenarios across the album's 50 tracks. These were then keyframed in a dynamic storyboard to sync with each song's vibe, transforming static visions into a fluid, narrative-driven spectacle that pulses in lockstep with the beats.

Challenges we ran into

Surprisingly, both track and video flowed with eerie ease compared to the album's denser cuts—earning its lead single crown—but curating the perfect image cascade demanded razor-sharp decisions. Prompting the pivotal surreal twist (her devouring the scorpion, exhaling it in an iridescent bubble) was a delicate dance of iteration.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Architecting a bulletproof workflow for one continuous, seamless video tapestry—this isn't just a clip, it's a blueprint. Embracing this constraint as a creative forge for the full album feels like unlocking a new level of immersive storytelling.

What we learned

Perfection's a myth; if a section stalls, pivot without panic—your storyboard's the North Star, with images pinned in the editor as placeholders for every beat. Keeping file names as raw hashes streamlined lookups and saved sanity; iteration's your ally, not enemy.

What's next for Girlwork | Secrets of Time

This scorpion-stung siren call kicks off the avalanche: First of many videos carved from the colossal 3-hour opus Sandglass. Expect a relentless drip of dream-drenched visuals, each track a chapter in this temporal fever—watch the sands shift.
