Inspiration

This pop anthem's energy demanded a music video with real stage presence. I pictured her commanding the crowd, her image blasting across screens, connecting with fans in a way that matched the track's bold, electronic vibe.

What it does

It shows a woman wailing on a microphone, her face projected on giant screens and diving into the crowd to surf over fans; pop beats drive a video that captures her larger-than-life presence merging with the audience's hype.

How we built it

I pulled from 20,000+ AI images of the singer from Sandglass's 50 tracks, storyboarded her performance and crowd dives, keyframing them to the song's beats for a tight, high-energy video.

Challenges we ran into

Full lip-sync was off the table—too limiting for scope and time. I thought the holler would be a good opportunity to attempt a partial sync since the tech wasn't ready, needing post-production tweaks to match her voice. Crowd shots also took work to avoid looking fake and keep them grounded.

Accomplishments that we’re proud of

Nailing key moments: her ripping open her costume, fireworks popping on the beat, and crowd-surfing shots that feel real despite some odd expressions, those hits land hard and tie the video to the song's raw power.

What we learned

Syncing vocals meant leaning on post-production timeshifting, which worked but showed we need better keyframing tools; like bumping renders from 24 to 48 fps on the fly to make fast edits smoother without rework.

What’s next for Girlwork | No Matter What

Will be dropping Sandglass videos through the end of 2025; some will stay shelved for a physical release since most tracks are already visualized. Following Girlwork on music streaming services is the best way to ensure more beats drop.
