Girlwork | Coffee and Dessert

Inspiration

I set out to bottle the quiet magic of home life in an Asia pop anthem; celebrating a woman who transforms domestic rhythms into a joyful, soul-warming ritual, where every chore sings of love and togetherness.

What it does

It captures a radiant housewife twirling through a sun-dappled, artfully adorned home—sweeping floors to vibrant beats, brewing coffee with a grin, preparing meals like poetry. Her housework morphs into a buoyant dance, wrapped in catchy melodies that radiate cozy, heartfelt bliss.

How we built it

I tapped the 20,000+ AI image cache of the enigmatic woman across Sandglass’s 50 folders to craft a storyboard of seamless chores, keyframing her lively spins to the track’s shimmering pop pulse for a fluid, uplifting visual love letter to home.

Challenges we ran into

I banked on gloves to dodge AI's notorious hand-rendering glitches, but the fix was barely a nudge, while slashing linkable images and cramping the storyboard's flow. I leaned hard into tighter framing and simpler gestures to keep her twirls clean without sacrificing warmth.

Accomplishments that we’re proud of

The song’s lyrical and sonic sparkle landed flawlessly; nearly scrapped for being “too poppy,” it marked a pivot where I owned the lyrical renders with confidence. Turning a mainstream gamble into a heated banger feels like a quiet triumph.

What we learned

Gloves are no hand-fix hero; barely better than bare skin. Spins trump choreographed dance moves for smooth renders, and while finger wags or points snap easy in stills, video fluidity still fights back, demanding clever workarounds in the edit bay.

What’s next for Girlwork

Sandglass’s poppiest gem, this track dares to duke it out in the crowded mainstream; tougher than cozy lofi playlists, but with 50 tracks in the arsenal, I'm betting on its shine to fuel another sprawling record, brimming with heart and variety, if the love keeps flowing.
