Inspiration
The inspiration for "Girl Up Coders Autho" stems from the need to create an inclusive platform that ensures secure access for all, empowering my own renowned Girl Up Coders community for Women in tech. I wanted to blend technology and inclusivity to build a tool that simplifies authentication while fostering growth.
What it does
Girl Up Coders Autho provides a robust, user-friendly authentication system with features like multi-factor authentication, social login, and custom roles. It prioritizes secure, seamless access to applications, catering to diverse user needs and creating an inclusive digital experience.
How I built it
The platform was built using Auth0 as the core authentication provider, integrated with modern web development tools like HTML CSS for the frontend and Python for the backend. I also incorporated APIs to enhance functionality and employed a responsive design for accessibility across devices. Heroku for hosting and Docker for containerization.
Challenges I ran into
One of the primary challenges was tailoring authentication workflows for inclusivity while maintaining a high-security standard. Integrating custom roles and permissions for diverse user groups and optimizing the app for accessibility were also complex but rewarding hurdles.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
I'm proud of creating a secure and inclusive authentication system that can scale for various use cases. Successfully implementing multi-factor authentication and achieving seamless social login integration were significant milestones.
What I learned
This project deepened my understanding of secure authentication workflows, the importance of user experience in authentication systems, and how inclusivity can be a driving force in technical design.
What's next for Girl Up Coders Autho
I am going to make a full-stack app for Girl Up Coders, specifically designed to support and empower my own Girl Up Coders community.
