Inspiration This project started with a simple idea: memories sometimes feel like echoes. They fade, return, and linger in small emotional flashes. I wanted to capture that feeling in a soft, dreamy way. The thought of sound turning into little glowing orbs felt magical to me, and that image became the starting point for the entire story. From there, the character and her journey began to fall into place naturally. What it does Girl of a Thousand Echoes is a short, dreamy film about a girl who wakes up in a world where every sound becomes a floating orb of light. Each orb holds a tiny moment from her past. As she collects them, she slowly reconnects with memories she didn’t realize she had lost. The film isn’t loud or dramatic — it’s meant to feel calm, gentle, and emotional. How we built it I started by writing a simple script around the core idea. Then I broke the story into short scenes that AI video tools could handle without losing the aesthetic. I focused on soft lighting, slow movement, and pastel colors to keep everything consistent. After generating the scenes, I edited them together and added gentle sound design so the visuals and audio matched the mood of the story. Challenges we ran into The hardest part was keeping the AI-generated shots consistent. Sometimes the character would change slightly or the environment wouldn’t match previous scenes, so I had to redo certain clips more than once. Finding the right prompts also took patience since one small word could completely shift the vibe. Even though it took trial and error, the process helped me better understand how to guide the AI. Accomplishments that we're proud of I’m proud that the final result feels smooth, emotional, and visually cohesive. It feels close to the original vision I had in my head, which is really satisfying. I also like that the story still feels simple and soft while carrying a deeper meaning about memories and letting go. Seeing the world come together in a way that feels peaceful and magical is something I’m genuinely happy about. What we learned I learned a lot about how sensitive AI tools are to wording, and how important it is to shape prompts carefully. I also learned how to build a consistent atmosphere using lighting, pacing, and color. On the storytelling side, I realized that simple ideas often translate the best, especially in short films. I even used a bit of LaTeX to describe how memories fade over time, similar to a decaying wave

What's next for Girl of a thousand echoes I’d love to expand this project into a longer version or a small series that explores more of this quiet, glowing world. There’s a lot more I’d like to show — different kinds of echoes, new environments, and more emotional moments. I’m also interested in improving the AI workflow so I can create smoother character continuity and even richer visuals in future versions.
