Girl Force USA

Inspiration

We were inspired by the idea of a dating website where different members' profiles can be matched up and communication can be made.

What it does

Our website helps make the connection between the mentors and mentees in the Girl Force USA organization. As a mentee, you could register through the website and create a user profile for yourself. Then, you will be matched up with mentors who match your profile. Contact information will be provided on the mentor's profile so that they are available for you to reach out to. Then, the mentors can reply and give you advice.

How we built it

The two members of our group who had previous coding experience coded the main framework of our website while the others worked on the design as well as the easier parts of code. In this way, we could get more work done at a faster pace.

Challenges we ran into

There were several ideas that we came up with throughout the brainstorming process, but we didn't know the code needed to actually implement these ideas on our website. So, we had to come up with something different to add to our website as well. We also had difficulty in storing and retrieving the user input information.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud that we were able to complete a website in so little time. We are also proud of the fact that everyone in our group learned a little bit more about coding.

What we learned

The members of our group who had no previous experience in coding learned how to code in html. The members who already new some code, learned more about coding. All in all, everyone learned more about coding today. We also learned about the multiple problems we might run into in the future when coding and the process we need to take to troubleshoot them.
