Inspiration

Me and my hackathon group suffer from back problems because we do not have enough chairs around my house. We look like armadillos, but we want to look like giraffes. We guarantee within a week, of our exquisite product, the giraffe, you will improve your posture in no time.

What it does

The giraffe is an attachment to your upper back of the shirt collar, it is connected to a MPU6050 and arduino to detect when your posture is misaligned. We then have a series of payloads to tell the user that their posture is misaligned using a friendly reminder

How we built it

We used vscode, and arduino IDE for programming, github for organization, and onshape for 3d modeling.

Challenges we ran into

The mpu6050 is the worst module we've ever worked with in our lives. we had to refer to the datasheet to manually send bits and request data from it using the registers. To save you some time this is what the datasheet looks like https://invensense.tdk.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/02/MPU-6000-Register-Map1.pdf

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of being able to overcome our challenges and learn many new things.

What we learned

How to read a datasheet How to use githib Bit manipulation

What's next for giraffe

We plan to add more modules, make the casing more sleek and ergonomic for the user's back, add magnets to attach onto the shirt, and have a servo to correct your back posture passively.

james trolled our 3d modeling and we were getting trolled but we pulled through in the end because we had lots of fun and motivation and detemrination and loved our product and held lots of passion. For more information on james trolling visit https://jamesisagoof.itxwill.xyz

we had lots of fun and are happy that we overcame alot of the challenges such as james trolling.
