Inspiration
It started as my own problem (wish it was my only and biggest problem in life lol). I had some pictures in my gallery that I wanted to post online but I didn't know what to write for them or even whether I should post them at all. So eventually, I started finding myself sending the picture in question to ChatGPT/Claude, and asking it to come up with some funny captions. At first, the outcome was quite cringe. As by default the LLM's humour isn't that sharp...
But overtime I've perfected a prompt where out of 5 options usually 1 or 2 were quite funny that I liked. So I just started using it and noticed how my engagement on Instagram grew: whenever I was using a really funny caption, I was getting much more likes, DMs, etc. Figured if this is useful for me, then for sure there must be a market for this. So I pitched this to my girlfriend who is an amazing designer, 4 months went by and Gigavibe app was born!
What it does
It analyses any image you snap/upload and appends a funny caption onto this image based on what's going on there. Users then share it on social media, group chats, etc. and get better engagement for their posts. Format inspired by the demotivators that were extremely viral when I was a kid.
For images with captions: you can basically create memes. And then share them anywhere: from confusing family & friends group chats in WhatsApp to sharing it on stories on Instagram, Snapchat, etc.
For chat replies: You just copy the reply you like and post it back to whatever chat you were having. Whether it's the professional chat, a ''dating'' chat, or whatever conversation you're having really.
How we built it
First, I built a dirty web prototype with Replit to validate the idea. We liked the potential, so then we started building it with React Native and Expo and now we're here!

Challenges we ran into
The whole development was a challenge. For us not being professional app developers (or rather not being developers at all!) and vibecoding it all in Cursor — it was quite a challenge and lots of frustration. I recall that we got seriously stuck on the Firebase App Check issue, I was battling with it for weeks and not being able to get it to work. So we found a great developer who helped us with this feature and then some more!
Accomplishments that we're proud of
This is a silly little app, but we built it like our lives depend on it. We've created a custom font for it, added a bunch of easter eggs, stressed over every single detail and animation and still are frustrated as we have so many more things to add and improve!
What we learned
if you plan your MVP to take 1 month — it will take 4; Genuine organic UGC > influencers with millions of views shilling the app; Onlyfans models are REALLY good sellers.
What's next for Gigavibe
We still have a long road ahead of us with how we see we can improve the app. We spent a lot of time on what we probably shouldn't have been doing at all, like the mentioned before aspect of making our own custom font ''Gigavibe'' for Gigavibe or adding easter eggs that most of the users probably never even gonna encounter. But for us it's important that WE KNOW THEY ARE THERE.
Our next focus is making the app even simpler to use while continuing to hone Gigavibe’s brain to generate the best captions and replies possible. And of course, experimenting with the distribution channels!
