Inspiration
I find the current chrome bookmarking system ugly and forgettable.I also do a lot of online shopping and thought I could come up with a well designed bookmarking system for gifts.
What it does
It simply bookmarks webpages under someone's inputted name.
How I built it
Chrome API and javascript with a lot of stack overflow.
Challenges I ran into
Learning asynchronous javascript was my first hurdle. I found out about chrome developer tools a while after beginning but after that, things went a lot smoother.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
Learning the whole process by myself from scratch.
What's next for giftR
I modified it to become a different, possibly more useful app that bookmarks collections of pages under user entered names. For example,if youre developing a project, you can save your entire chrome window with all the tabs to move on to something else, later you can open your project tabs with one button click when you return.
