Inspiration

Have you ever had a friend forget your special day? Did they get you a thoughtless gift? Did you wish you could remind them ahead of time? Giftinz is the answer!

What it does

Giftinz sends automated SMS messages to your loved ones, reminding them of your special day! Fill out and submit your wishlist so your friends and family are in the know of your current wants. We also include a link in the message to quickly purchase items from your wishlist so that gift giving is as simple as a few clicks.

With Giftinz, choose the frequency of wishlist reminders! From daily, weekly, and monthly options, you can sleep easy knowing that you’ve made this gifting experience far more enjoyable for everyone involved!

How we built it

We designed the front-end prototype using Figma. We created a react app for our form website and used the Twilio API to send automated messages.

Challenges we ran into

Pretty much everything since we never used these specific tools and this was our first hackathon. We couldn't think of what to do and how to implement it. We also had trouble collaborating remotely across time zones. We were not able to register for a .tech domain to fully implement our website.
