[GHW] My First Discord Bot

Inspiration

Jacklyn in the live event taught us how to make a discord bot. I have never made one so I found it fascinating thus wanted to do it myself too. First I just wanted to make a music bot but then I thought that I can add other functions too and here it is.

What it does

It plays the youtube video in the voice channel and also stops, pauses and resumes the said video. It also gives us random jokes and quotes. With it, we can also include specific tags to get quotes by tags. In the end, it also gives us the tags list to add tags.

Challenges we ran into

The first challenge I ran into was incorporating the APIs in the project solved it using the Autocode YouTube channel.

Also, there were many bugs when making it. Especially the quotes section which I debugged.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I am really proud of my quotes commands in which I added the functionality to search by tags and also to return the list of tags.

What we learned

I learned how to make a discord bot using Autocode. How to use the standard library in it and also incorporate external APIs.

What's next for [GHW] My First Discord Bot

I want the bot to next not only play the video according to the link but also according to the title. Also will be adding more functionality like help to show all its commands. Maybe I can also add to return funny gifs to make it more motivational and fun bot.
