Inspiration
Many developers struggle to turn vague ideas into clear, structured specifications quickly. This problem inspired GhostAgent, a spooky-themed AI agent built for Kiroween 2026. We wanted to leverage Kiro’s spec-driven AI workflow to bridge the gap between rough thoughts and usable code.
What it does
GhostAgent takes your informal project ideas and generates well-organized specs, project architecture outlines, and ready-to-use code snippets for full-stack web applications. It helps hackathon builders prototype faster without getting stuck on planning.
How we built it
We built GhostAgent entirely on Kiro’s AI agent system. We defined prompt rules, specification templates, and output structures inside Kiro, then integrated basic web stack support for JavaScript, Node.js and frontend code generation. All development followed Kiro’s spec-first development pattern.
Challenges we ran into
The biggest challenge was tuning the agent to produce consistent, clean specs instead of messy, unstructured output. We spent time refining the steering rules and templates in Kiro to keep the results reliable and developer-friendly.
What we learned
We deeply explored Kiro’s spec-driven development model. We learned how to design AI agents that follow strict specification formats, and how powerful it is to build projects by defining requirements before writing code.
What's next for GhostAgent
In the future, we plan to add more framework presets, support database schema generation, and improve the agent’s ability to iterate and revise existing specs based on user feedback.
