💡 Inspiration
As a non-native English speaker, I often had to copy and paste my website or app text into ChatGPT to fix grammar or improve clarity. It was time-consuming, so I built Ghost Writer to automate that process and solve my own niche problem.

- Offer instant replacements, quickly swap text with AI-verified, polished versions
🧱 How we built it
We built Ghost Writer as a Chrome extension using JavaScript and HTML. It integrates the Proofreader API, Writer API, and Rewriter API to handle grammar checking, copy enhancement, and blog generation. These APIs work together to analyze web content in real time and deliver improved, AI-powered text directly within the browser.
🏆 Accomplishments that we're proud of
What I’m most proud of isn’t the technical side. It’s that we built something genuinely useful. I use Ghost Writer in my daily work, and it’s already helping me write faster and clearer, making it easier to communicate with colleagues around the world.
📚 What we learned
We didn’t know these APIs even existed, we discovered them thanks to this hackathon and were amazed to see how seamlessly they integrate with the browser. It was surprisingly helpful, and as soon as we found them, we started experimenting with the APIs for personal projects.
🔮 What's next for Ghost Writer
We plan to expand Ghost Writer with smarter and more customizable features. For blog generation, we’ll add options to set the tone, style, and maximum word count. For the landing page analyzer, we aim to include automatic translation into selected languages and deeper SEO insights. Our goal is to make Ghost Writer a complete AI assistant for all web content creation needs.
