I was always fascinated by the movie Ghost Ship. I loved how technical it was: the lighting, the story, everything about it. I also remember music and sound in general were always a big part of the movie and served the dreadful atmosphere. That movie always stuck to me and when I decided to create my first original music video with generative AI I immediately thought of Ghost Ship. I also had been dabbling with Suno and other music generative AIs for a while at that time, and I wanted to create a different music from what I'm usually used to, and chose a sultry jazz genre that fitted the theme.

Despite the skeptical general public opinion about the lack of artistic expression in generative AI, I wanted to make a beautiful, intricate music video. I tested various angles, all kinds of cinematographic shots, composition, whilst trying to maintain a harmonious lighting and cohesive visual atmosphere. About 5% of the video footage is ''real, genuine'' footage, from stock video websites such as Freepik and Pexels. Video editing with Adobe Premiere Pro.

Song created with Suno, lyrics are 100% written by me, as I have always loved writing poems, music and short stories. That part is completely AI-free lol

I was on a bit of a budget for this project and I actually managed to complete it for almost zero cost (money-wise I mean). I only purchased a one-month subscription to Suno, about 9€.

I hope I demonstrated how generative AIs can actually be used as tools for artistic expression, for my music video could definitely be recreated with ''real'' footage by a ''real'' team of professionals. I don't imagine AI totally replacing anything in art, but in a near future, AI music videos could be used as a kind of storyboard, a first step to creating music, movies, art.
