Inspiration

The Lens Ghost Hunter effect was inspired by a film called "Ghostbuster", where I took the main concept of the film, which is to catch the ghosts that roam around with their plasma blaster weapons.

What it does

The way this gamification lens works is very similar to the movie "Ghostbuster" where we as users have a weapon, namely a "plasma blaster" or something 🤣, we are required to catch ghosts in a ghost box, namely in a movie, but in this effect, we as a player have to kill them with the plasma blaster.

Ghost Box

How I built it

of course, using the Lens Studio application 😎, and since I can't use visual scripting so I designed this entire workflow using javascript. Thanks to all your lens studio developers using scripting concepts like in Unity 🔥 so I can quickly understand how scripting works in Lens Studio.

Cheers

What's in this lens

No time to try the filter? watching the demo video that I provided not quite satisfied? Read the sub-chapters below to find out what's inside this gamification lens 😉.

Ghosts

of course, just the name of the filter "Ghost Hunter" must have a ghost, but don't worry, the ghost isn't scary, in fact, it's very funny in my opinion. This ghost will continue to follow you until it eliminates one by one your life points in this game

Ghost

Plasma Blaster

Because this gamification lens is inspired by the film "Ghostbusters", of course, this plasma blaster is its trademark, right? I added this section to kill the ghosts, like any weapon in general, this weapon can also overheat and has a cooldown after the weapon is turned off and then turned on again, to make it seem realistic, of course

Awesome UI 😎

To be honest, I have no design skills, so I made this UI using an AI 🤣, yes of course I edited it bit by bit to make it look better in Photoshop

Aweome UI

Countdown 30s

Yes, this game is not an endless game, there is a 30 seconds countdown when the game starts, and you have to kill as many ghosts as possible in those 30 seconds so you can win from your friends (yes if you have friends)

What is the workflow of this lens from the developer's point of view

I can't provide all the workflow, but here is some simple workflow for this lens.

Flowchart

Challenges we ran into

In this gamification lens, I faced a number of problems, one of which was "I don't understand how to use the sync framework", so to be honest this filter is my 2nd filter using the Sync Framework, moreover, I have planned to make this lens playable by 4 people simultaneously.

Achievements that we're proud of

of course, there is nothing else and no I can publish this lens for the challenge "Snap AR Lensathon" on devpost 😁, yes not only that, in the process of making this lens I tried various technologies provided in Lens Studio such as VFX, custom component, visual scripting (i hate this part), etc

So Proud

What I learned

I learned a lot in Lens Studio during the making of this lens, the thing that impressed me the most was the Sync Framework with all the Utils scripts that you all have provided (Thanks Dev 🍻). I'm waiting for other technologies that you are currently developing.

What's next for Ghost Hunter

I've made a Team vs Team UI, but due to time constraints and my brain has started to overheat making Player vs Player, it looks like it would be better if Team vs Team went to version 2.0 later, you have to wait for the update 😉.
