The goal of the project is to be able to be able to make a robot which plays checkers on a physical board. It moves the pieces with a magnet which can be disengaged by a servo which moves it away from the board. The servo and magnet will by mounted on a carriage which can be moved to any X-Y position with stepper motors, similarly to the carriage on a laser cutter. The user will be able to type piece origin and destination coordinates into a computer connected to an Arduino, and the Ghost checkers machine will automatically move the piece without the user having to touch the board.
