Inspiration

Based on personal experience, we as students have lost countless items here on campus and wished we had someone to go to, something to help us. This is why we decided to come together and create a centralized software to makes finding our lost items easier and more efficient.

What it does

Our software aims to streamline the ‘lost and found’ process by allowing users to photos, upload descriptions and claim lost or found items.

How we built it

We utilized Django (framework), Figma (Online UI Design Tool), GitHub (Online Repository), and VS Code (IDE) to build our software. For our pitch, we used Google Slides to create our presentation and recorded our video via Zoom.

Challenges we ran into

We ran into challenges with the configurations, syntax, intricacies of Django. As for GitHub, we struggled with the commands, as well as pushing and pulling code

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud that we completed our pitch AND we were able to implement a working demo within the time limit we were given.

What we learned

In terms of content, we learned about the entrepreneurial mindset as well as the monetary aspects that would come with inaugurating a software. As for experience, we learned that Hackathons are not for the weak, take a great deal of thuggin it out, and push you to keep moving forward even when the end is not in sight.

What's next for GH24 - Niner Finder

Our team plans on including an AI search bar that will help the user find their lost item in the next version of our software.
