School at home

Inspiration

During the covid-19 pandemic, many schools had to close their doors and move to online learning. While many universities and high schools have done a very good job transitioning to online learning, but no such platform were made for school students. This is what inspired us to create this application that focuses on delivering information and education to kids in an easy and interactive way at home!

What it does

provides access to variety of exercises that are interactive and easy to use. These include drag and drop exercise. sorting and more!

How we built it

Using React and semantic ui react, We used Firebase to deploy it to the web. front end using react and backend using firebase.

Challenges we ran into

This is my first time creating an app for multiple users. Thus, it was quite difficult in the beginning to create a clean structure to direct users to their respective pages. In addition, there is a lot of data to pass between students and teachers so the database structure is more complex.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I'm proud of creating stay at home education for kids learning with my team.

What we learned

We learned about react and react semantic ui having experimented with many options. We also gained a lot more experience with Firebase also learned on some React components and set up screens and voice sharing using webRTC.
