Inspiration
Inspired by GFT challenge, we want to help the company's staff to retrieve the lost Pokemons. And more funcionalities our webApp can offer.
What it does
To do it, we created a Pokedex: a tool that will help them looking for those funny creatures. You can:
- Capture Pokemons and the events with a QR code scanning funcionality.
- List all Pokemons the and the number of times they were captured.
- Possibility of consulting all the details about the Pokemons, including where did we encounter it.
- Possibility to evolute all the suitable Pokemons through the interface.
- Funcionality to check all teams' Pokemon amount.
- List of all the zones, and the possibility to add automatic periodical requests to each one in order to catch all the Pokemons that may appear there. ## How we built it As we wanted to fit the app in a mobile device, but also mantain its usability in a computer, we decided to go with a webapp. To do it, we used JavaScript and ReactJS, with the help of Bootstrap. ## Challenges we ran into As we have a Java and C++ background, we had to adapt to the JavaScript way of programming, which made us encounter lots of challenges. ## Accomplishments that we're proud of We are proud of developing this in 24h. None of us have haven't slept during last night, and we are tired, but satisfied with the accomplished results. ## What we learned
- We learnt how to develop a webapp.
- We learnt how to work with Bootstrap
- We learnt JavaScript
- It fas the first hackthon for some people in the team: first time using git, an api, javascript... ## What's next for GFT Challenge (Pokedex)
- Complete the tournaments function with the interface (backend funcionality is done).
- Study if the webapp is responsive enough
- Add a system to predict when the next Pokemon will apear.
