Inspiration

We were inspired by the everyday frustration of missing out on great in-store deals simply because they remained invisible. Shoppers often overpay, while local retailers struggle with unsold stock. We wanted to bridge this Invisible Deal Gap by creating a simple, community-powered way to make local savings visible in real time.

What it does

Get Your Offers is a community-powered social shopping app built on a dynamic, three-tiered ecosystem:

  • Passive Users: The audience of local shoppers. They can browse, discover, like, and share thousands of real-time deals, making the platform the go-to source for local savings.
  • Offer Hunters: The content engine of our community. Anyone—a savvy shopper, a local enthusiast, or even a store owner—can be an Offer Hunter. They snap photos and post new deals for any store in town. A gamified XP system rewards them for their contributions, ensuring a constant stream of fresh, user-generated content.
  • Claimed Store Owners: This is our premium subscription tier. A business owner subscribes to claim their store and become the ultimate authority for their brand on the platform. The core value of the subscription is control: they gain the power to Verify or Deny any offer posted for their store by the community of Offer Hunters. Verification adds a badge of trust and boosts visibility, while denial removes inaccurate information. This subscription also unlocks a suite of SaaS tools, including performance analytics and a website integration snippet that automatically syncs their verified offers to their own webpage.

In essence, the community of Offer Hunters creates the content and the value, which attracts the audience. This activity creates an undeniable need for business owners to subscribe to manage their reputation and turn community buzz into a verified marketing channel.

How we built it

We built the app with simplicity and speed at its core: snap, upload, and share. Offers are user-generated and community-verified, ensuring authenticity without complex moderation. For retailers, we integrated lightweight promotional tools such as scheduling and basic analytics. A gamified XP system rewards shoppers for sharing, validating, and rating deals—making the platform both functional and fun.

Challenges we ran into

Overcoming Retailer Skepticism: Small business owners are often cautious about new digital tools. Our model solves this by having the community create a presence for the retailer first. The owner discovers that a conversation about their store is already happening, creating a powerful, organic incentive to join and take control.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

  • Creating a Self-Regulating Ecosystem: Our proudest accomplishment is designing a model where free user activity (hunting offers) organically creates the demand for the premium subscription (curating offers).
  • A Powerful, Organic Acquisition Funnel: We built a system where our most engaged users (Offer Hunters) act as our lead generation for new business subscribers, dramatically lowering customer acquisition costs.
  • Designing a Simple Solution to a Complex Problem: We gave retailers a simple tool—the Verify/Deny button—that solves the complex problems of brand management, trust, and accuracy in a crowdsourced world.
  • A Compelling Value Proposition: We offer retailers more than just features; we offer them control over their brand's narrative in a community they can't afford to ignore.

What we learned

  • Local communities value authenticity over polished advertising
  • Gamification motivates participation, but only if it remains simple and fair
  • Retailers want visibility without complexity; the simpler the tool, the better the adoption
  • Trust and transparency are essential for engagement on both sides

What's next for Get Your Offers

  • Expanding the retailer toolkit with more integrations (digital signage, newsletters, widgets)
  • Introducing personalized deal alerts and smarter discovery filters
  • Strengthening community features to increase local collaboration
  • Growing into more regions while keeping the platform hyperlocal and community-first
