Inspiration

Note-taking was messy and unstructured. We wanted a tool that felt modern, clean, and powered by AI — so we built Notey to organize chaotic thoughts effortlessly.

What it does

Lets you freely brain-dump ideas, thoughts, or content
AI organizes your input and provides custom responses
Supports smart tagging, clean formatting, and split view
Allows you to select any text and instantly ask AI for help or insights
No folders. No clutter. Just clarity.
Syncs everything in one clean, dark-mode UI with Gen Z vibes

How we built it

We used nextjs and Tailwind for the frontend, gemini for AI responses, and deployed it via Vercel. State is managed using React hooks. Also a vector data base and langchain

Challenges we ran into

Integrating AI smoothly in the editor, creating a good UX for split views, and fine-tuning prompts for meaningful AI responses.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Building a GenZ first application. Built a working AI-powered note app with clean UX and real-time AI insights in a short time.

What we learned

Prompt engineering is key. Good AI UX requires balance between automation and user control. Also learned how to manage dynamic text editing. how vector db works.
