Inspiration
This hackathon is a great opportunity for us to learn, which is how we got inspired. We completed our projects in our last two hackathons, so we wanted to try something new this time!
What it does
Our project automates web scraping for the Deck challenge. Our goal is to navigate their mock portal to drop out of university while handling numerous anti-bot measures.
How we built it
We built it using TypeScript and Playwright. We didn't have time to implement AI vision, so we use Playwright's methods to find the necessary fields to progress on the university portal.
Challenges we ran into
We weren't ready for the increasing difficulty and the novelty of web scraping. We tried to implement AI vision using OpenRouter; however, we ran out of time trying to get different methods to work.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We got parts of the automated flow working, even though we vibe coded most our way...
What we learned
We learned new technologies, libraries and methods of web scraping. We definitely learned some challenges from web scraping!
