E-HELP PLATFORM

This is a platform whereby victims and users will be getting help by opening online tickets and advisors will be getting in touch with them through the contact details they give out.

Inspiration

Inspired by the series EQUALIZER whereby a team of three people, all retired special soldiers, come up with a website whereby people in danger contact them and they get to help them.

We were saddened by how cases of people taking drastic measures such as suicide increases in the society just becomes they reached the end of their ability in solving issues, and had no right platform to get help immediately.

Victims also shy away from face to face conversations with consultants and even prefer making everything private some fearing for their lives.

What it does

It helps victims contact advisors by creating tickets and giving details of their problems; may it be child abuse, victim violence, looking for justice etc.

Consultants or advisors are assigned automatically if their locations match or assigned manually by a staff member. Users can view the tickets they created, track their status, and also give feedback.

We have also created a funding for the platform where donors can donate and view a record of their donation on the platform.

We also have a blog functionality to create posts and news articles for the idea of creating awareness and convincing people to join the platform and come out to seek for help.

We also have a powerful admin panel for administrative tasks such as adding advisors, posts, assigning advisors to tickets.

How we built it

The application is built using django, a python framework for web development, and used html, bootstrap5 for the front-end.

The project consists mainly of two sections: the section to handle tickets, advisors, notifications; and the blog section.

Challenges we ran into

Working long hours at night to accomplish the project. Debugging errors due to degradation of some extensions.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud to have been among the participants of this hackathon and even created a project that if implemented can help in tackling cases of social injustices and grow the community spirit of standing up against injustices.

What we learned

Through this hackathon, we got to know that we are always the pioneers of our lives, social injustice is always fought for as a community but not lonely.

What's next for E-HELP PLATFORM

We are looking forward to seeing the project implementation, open to addition of functionalities.
