Our Project

Electricity is a necessity. It's sad to see how many countries lack electricity in this day and age. So to help Pakistan, a country severing lacking resources fr electricity, we've devised a way for them to mitigate power outages and store energy efficiently.

What it does

Get Air System uses underground pressurized air canisters to store excess electricity until it is needed. It contacts an app through a specialized computer that alerts workers of potential problems, maintenance, and temperature control. It's perfect for countries with power grids that lack the resources to store their energy. In the case of Pakistan, it will mitigate power outages due to overflow.

How we built it

For our project, we researched possible designs for a modern power grid and the shortcomings of Pakistan's system to make a 2D model encompassing components from a variety of power grids. This diversification of components allowed us to innovate.

Challenges we ran into

We were challenged by the scarcity of information about Pakistan's power grid, and had to dig into research in order to learn more about it. Additionally, we had to pivot our original idea, as it was too ambitious at this time and would require the use of technology that is currently not available.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are highly proud of our ability to research, formulate and present our idea in the span of just three days. Immense amounts of work were put into this project to make it both something we are excited to present and something we are excited for judges to learn about.

What we learned

Throughout this project, we learned about the many ways to improve electrical systems and how smart grid technology is the future of electricity. Both of these lessons will help all to provide access to electricity for all.

What's next for Get Air System

Our next goal is to provide access to the Get Air System to more countries that lack electricity so that everyone can have access to power and make use of smart grid technology.
