Inspiration
Our main inspiration for this project in the big 25 was Doomscrolling Memes 🥀.
What it does
Meme charades recognizes gestures the person is making and matching them with popular memes.
How we built it
We built Meme Charades using MediaPipe in Python. MediaPipe was mainly used for the gesture recognition, mapping out the human body’s key joint-landmarks in each frame. This allowed us to freely do the gestures we were trying to make.
Challenges we ran into
We ran into python version issues, github workflow understanding hiccups, Conflict management of the teams temperature in a passionate project, balance of rest and productivity times, and understanding a library foreign to our previous understanding.
What we learned
Understanding of git branching, using mediapipe to track human movement, and a deeper comprehension of the python coding language
What's next for Gesture Recognition
Meme culture is ever expanding and we'd like deepen this code's library with memes of new and old to keep on playing charades
Built With
- mediapipe
- python
