Geography is often taught through maps, textbooks, names, locations, and facts. While these are important, learning geography can become more engaging when learners can actively explore places and geographical information.

GeoMapGame was inspired by the idea of making geography more interactive and accessible through digital experiences. Instead of simply memorizing locations, learners can explore countries, places, maps, geographical features, and related information in a more engaging way.

What it does

GeoMapGame is an interactive geography learning platform focused on exploring the world through digital geography experiences.

How I built it

GeoMapGame is developed as a web-based geography platform, with the website currently built using Wix.

The platform is structured around different types of geography content and experiences, including games, articles, country information, maps, and geographical resources.

The development process involved organizing geographical information into an accessible digital platform and designing the experience around exploration rather than only static information.

Challenges I ran into

One of the main challenges was presenting a large amount of geographical information in a way that remains easy to explore and understand.

Another challenge was balancing educational content with interactive experiences. A geography platform should provide accurate and useful information while also keeping the experience engaging for learners.

Organizing different types of geographical content—such as countries, places, maps, articles, and games—into a clear structure was also an important part of developing the platform.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

One of the main accomplishments is building GeoMapGame into a dedicated digital platform focused specifically on geography exploration and learning.

The project brings different aspects of geography together in one place, including interactive activities, maps, country exploration, and educational resources.

I'm particularly proud of the idea of using digital exploration to encourage curiosity about the world and make geography more engaging.
