Inspiration

AR interactive experiences and architecture accent lighting.

What it does

GeoLuminescence allows you to control real-world lighting via augmented reality controls.

How I built it

I created a NodeJS service shared externally using NGrok that takes standard GET requests and controls DMX stage lights via an Enttec Open DMX USB interface. I then used Adobe Aero with/ Google's Geospatial Creator to create interactive controls in the Geo-located AR space that make GET requests to control DMX lights.

Challenges I ran into

I am completely new Adobe Aero so there was a little learning curve. I didn't see a way to call an API based on an interaction in Aero. I had to use the load URL action, which goes off and opens a web page in the browser, but it works well enough to demonstrate the concept.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

It works!

What we learned

I learned Adobe Aero can interact with real-world devices via a digital twin.

What's next for GeoLuminescence

Hopefully, Adobe will add some API support for actions so I can try controlling some other devices.
