Inspiration
- As first-year UTSC students, we all had a lot of trouble learning the layout of the campus
- While there were campus tours during FROSH, they were inadequate
- Meanwhile, if you didn't go to FROSH, you had to learn the campus layout on your own
What it does
- UTSC Geoguesser is a game that prompts the user with an image of a place at UTSC and they must guess the correct location in order to accumulate points
- More points will be rewarded for more accurate guesses
How we built it
We used:
- Python
- Tkinter (Python UI Library)
- Pillow
Challenges we ran into
- Merging the game together
- Self-learning python libraries
- Miscommunication/Working as a team
- Creating transparency in images
Accomplishments that we're proud of
- Created a game that runs
- Able to determine a feasible project within the given time range and within our skills/abilities
What we learned
- Learned how use tkinter and pillow
- Learned how to work together as a team and sort out our differences
- Learned how to persevere through hardships and manage our time effectively
What's next for UTSC Geoguesser
- Expand to other UofT campuses
- Expand to other universities so that first-year university students can learn the layout of their school from one place
- Add a multiplayer aspect
- Expand to mobile apps
