Inspiration
Ready Player One and The Matrix and there's this movie called Gamer that allows you to feel like your in the game and our passion to feel more immersive in video to feel like were there.
What it does
The feedback system for walls and objects in virtual reality. We are using electrodes to mimic contact on the skin.
How we built it
We use Arduino and relays to control the electrode pads via an HTTP interface triggered by our Unity plug-in when the player clips into an object or part of the map.
Challenges we ran into
There are not many examples of Unity-controlled devices with the special case for Arduino where we were only able to find 1 other plugin in the marketplace doing the same integration.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We learned enough Unity to produce the demo application where you can test the sensorial feedback from our device.
What we learned
We learned how to use Unity to build our first demo.
What's next for GeoFence Feedback Suit
We would want to make it work with the object lying in your hand by starting by providing feedback on granular scrolling.
