🔥 Inspiration

Local event organizers are juggling too many disconnected tools, Canva for banners, Google Forms for RSVPs, WhatsApp for updates. It’s messy and inefficient. We wanted to build something cleaner, a true community-first platform where events feel effortless.

🔧 What We Built

GeoEvent is a sleek platform that helps organizers:

Create and share beautiful event pages in seconds
Generate banners automatically with AI Image Generation (DALL·E)
Upload Short Reels & Videos to boost engagement
Automatically post updates to Slack, Discord, and Email
Import events from other platforms (CSV/JSON)
Manage everything in one place, no design or dev skills needed

All features are live and integrated into the MVP.

🧠 What We Learned

We learned how critical user flow simplicity is, especially when onboarding non-technical users. We also got hands-on with integrating generative AI, simulating webhook flows, and mocking OAuth-ready workflows.

🚀 What’s Next

We’re already validating with organizers in Kitchener-Waterloo and passed Phase 1 of the Conestoga Venture Lab Tech program. From here, we’re building out full OAuth integrations, discoverable event feeds, and monetization support for organizers.
