Our inspiration came from a word generator that got us "location" and "art" and the idea spun from there.
Each location has a unique XY coordinate that contains two sets of integers with up to 8 decimals of accuracy. GeoArt assigns a unique characteristic of each decimal place to create a masterpiece. Depending on the position, a work of art can contain various shapes, colors, and patterns. With the level of accuracy, even walking down the street will paint a different picture.
GeoArt was built using Xcode, GeoArt, and a little bit of math.
Developing the algorithms and conversion for the coordinates was academically challenging. There are a lot of things to consider and took time to develop a universal code.
GeoArt is able to be simulated on a working iPhone with a clean, simple, and functioning app.
The GeoArt developers learned how to create an app, implement GPS functions, draw shapes, write intermediate swift code, and transfer data from files.
The decimals can be implemented with any artistic style. GeoArt developers used simple shapes, but pictures, intricate patterns, shades, tones, and densities can be added to make an even more unique masterpiece.
