Problem Statement

40,000 Families are annually displaced by floods. High mortality, water-borne, and vector-borne diseases become rampant due to inadequate infrastructure and poor sanitation. ** Inspiration** I come from Kisumu County in Kenya. Every year, families are displaced by floods, and people are exposed to challenges such as hunger, diseases, and even death. GeoAi aims to break this cycle by ensuring vulnerable populations are marked and early mitigations are set up to safeguard lives from adverse climate impacts.

Solution

Climate and Health Insights Platform to safeguard communities from climate and health impacts. What it does GeoAi is a web app platform that provides weather forecasting, monthly water index satellite imagery to highlight flood-prone areas, and a health chatbot for health insights. This aims to create awareness of climate risks and measures for staying safe.

How we built it

The web app is built using different technologies, the prototype was created on Figma, for the web frontend we used HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, ArcGIS Online and Google Earth Platform for the web maps, and Microsoft Azure and Twilio to create the AI Chatbot integrated with WhatsApp.

Business Model

Subscription Services to Individuals, families, and local communities, providing them access to premium features such as personalized health insights and extended weather forecasts.

Enterprise Solutions Collaboration with local governments, NGOs, and disaster response agencies to provide tailored solutions for community planning and disaster preparedness. Charge based on the scale of deployment and level of customization.

Data Licensing License the aggregated and anonymized data collected through the platform to research institutions, urban planners, and climate scientists. This data can be valuable for studying climate patterns, health trends, and disaster response strategies.

Advertising and Partnerships Partner with health and safety product providers, insurance companies, and relevant brands to advertise on the platform. Implement sponsored content and partnerships to generate additional revenue.
