Inspiration
Four college students, driven by curiosity about minerals, decided to use NASA's EMIT satellite data to predict them. Our inspiration was simple and driven by our desire to learn and create something useful.
What it does
Our app, created by our small team, uses machine learning to analyze NASA's EMIT satellite data and predict minerals, making it a handy tool for geology enthusiasts and professionals.
How we built it
With limited resources, we combined our skills in data science, geology, and coding to create a machine-learning model and a user-friendly app. We learned as we went along.
Challenges we ran into
As a small team of students, we had to tackle technical obstacles and deal with time constraints. Handling large datasets and ensuring real-time functionality were the major challenges.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We take pride in the fact that, despite the challenges, our app provides a valuable service. Our project demonstrates that even a small team can make a meaningful impact when they're passionate and dedicated.
What we learned
This project taught us the practical applications of our college studies and showed us the strength of teamwork. We discovered that learning and creating can go hand in hand, even with limited resources.
